W43 – Automatically provision engine context from your website

Lingo.dev can now automatically provision your localization engine's context from your website in the dashboard: generate a glossary, translation rules, and a brand voice, then save and attach them to the engine.

Automatically turn website content into engine context#

Give Lingo.dev a website when creating a localization engine in Infrastructure. It reads the content and generates the context that will guide your translations:

  • A glossary of terms drawn from the website.
  • Translation rules based on the conventions in the content.
  • A brand voice based on how the content is written.

Lingo.dev creates these resources and attaches them to your engine automatically. You get a starting point you can review and refine, rather than having to write every term and instruction from scratch. The generated context remains editable, just like context you create manually. Try a representative translation in Playground before using the engine in your integrations.

Automatically fill missing context on an existing engine#

Open an engine and select Fill missing context. Enter your website and choose which missing types of context to generate. If the engine already has a glossary, ruleset, or brand voice attached, that type is left alone. Existing context isn't replaced.

You can also generate a glossary, ruleset, or brand voice from its list in Infrastructure, and choose the engine it should apply to.

Provisioning runs in the background. Follow progress as Lingo.dev reads the website and creates each type of context, or close the progress view and return later. If part of the setup fails, you can retry the failed parts without starting over.

The legacy CLI doesn’t support all the features of the new CLI, including your engine’s configured localization pipeline. Reach out to the Lingo.dev team for help migrating.
